Opening batsman Tamim Iqbal is likely to have a delayed return to the Bangladesh team as a result of a side strain picked up Tuesday.
The left-handed batsman was recovering from a fractured left index finger suffered during the opening game of the Asia Cup against Sri Lanka in the UAE in September this year.
The severity of the injury will be confirmed following 48 hours of the doctor’s assessment.
On the other hand, all-rounder Shakib al Hasan attended his first nets session on the same day, after having recovered well from a long-standing finger injury.
Tamim was recovering well and had targeted to get back to action for Bangladesh through the first Test match in the home series against the West Indies in Chittagong from November 22.

Chief national selector Minhajul Abedin said Tamim’s appearance in the first Test against the Windies is in doubt and the recovery time from the strain can only be ascertained after a thorough medical check-up.
“We are still awaiting a doctor's report on Tamim to know the extent of his injury but it now seems difficult (for him to be available for the first Test)," Minhajul said to a cricket-based website Tuesday.
Tamim had his first net session in Mirpur last week with a good rate of recovery from the broken finger.
The south-paw was even in contention to play the two-day warm-up game against the West Indies to test his strength.

A batch of players from the Windies Test squad is scheduled to reach Dhaka Wednesday and travel straight to Chittagong for the first Test in the series.
Meanwhile, Shakib is aiming to return to the Bangladesh line-up through the three-match T20I series against the West Indies.
However, the national selection panel has kept Shakib under observation and he’s being considered to play from the first Test against the Caribbean side.
According to close sources, Shakib has recovered well from his long-standing finger injury and some work on strength and conditioning should get him ready for the Test series which is nine days away.
