Zimbabwe were on the backfoot on day two as Bangladesh were closing in on a big total. Seamer Tendai Chatara started the day unleashing some good lines and lengths, and bowled some good deliveries. But the right-arm pacer was injured in the 100th over of Bangladesh’s first innings. Chatara pulled up while bowling the third ball of the over. He was immediately in pain and later left the field on a stretcher. Chatara bowled economically in this innings before being injured. He bowled 22.2 overs, conceded just 34 runs and took the important wicket of No 3 batsman Mominul Haque on day one. He also bowled 12 maidens among his 22 overs. As Zimbabwe spinners were not effective throughout the innings, Chatara’s injury was a major blow for the side in the end as Bangladesh piled on the runs later in their innings.
