Bangladesh U-19 and Sri Lanka U-19 had their fourth of the five match youth ODI series washed out due to rain at Katunayake. Bangladesh were in an excellent position to win the rain-curtailed game and take a 1-2 lead in the series but were denied when rain returned.
Batting first, visitors Bangladesh made 155-6 in 22 overs instead of 50 as the start of play had been delayed by rain and a wet outfield. Young Tigers’ captain Tawhid Hridoy top scored with 59 not-out.

In reply, host Sri Lanka were teetering at 34-5 after 8.5 overs when rain came back and no further play was possible. Here again, Tawhid was the star of the show for Bangladesh as he took three Sri Lankan wickets for just eight runs.
The five-match series is currently tied 1-1 with the first match being washed out, the second match being won Bangladesh and the third match being won by Sri Lanka. All four games have so far been affected by rain and both results came via the D/L method. The fifth match is scheduled to be held on Friday 9th November.
