Bangladesh women suffer 3-0 defeat in Pakistan T20Is

Bangladesh women’s team conceded a 3-0 series defeat in the four-match T20I series against visitor Pakistan. The tourist registered a seven-wicket victory over the Tigresses in the fourth and final T20I in Cox’s Bazar’s Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium Saturday. The first game of the series was abandoned due to rain at the same venue.

Bangladesh on the day failed against the Pakistan pacers. The home side batted first only to display yet another poor show with the bat. With only two batters reaching double digit, Bangladesh were restricted to 77 in 20 overs. Middle-order batter Rumana Ahmed’s 24 runs was the highest in the innings, followed by Fahima Khatun’s 14.

Pakistan right-arm pacers Natalia Pervaiz and Diana Baig wrecked havoc as the duo shared five wickets.

Chasing the target, Pakistan lost only three wickets as captain Javeria Khan added a 29-ball 36 to the tally to aid the side to victory in 14.5 overs. Bangladesh spinners Salma Khatun, Rumana and Khadija-tul Kubra bagged a wicket each.

The lone ODI between the two teams will be played Monday.
