Shahid undergoes successful surgery

Shahid was discharged from hospital on Friday. The right-arm pacer hurt his knee while fielding during the 2016 BPL T20 for his side Dhaka Dynamites against Comilla Victorians in November. The 28-year old missed out on the New Zealand tour and also the one-off Test match against India. He then went for the option of surgery. According to the BCB’s chief physician, Dr Debashish Chowdhury the operation was successful and the cricketer will be examined again after three months. “The operation took place last Wednesday and Shahid was discharged from the hospital [Friday]. He is expected to return to Bangladesh this week. The surgery went well and now he has to go through the rehabilitation process after returning home. He will be examined again after three months,” Debashish told Dhaka Tribune on Friday.
