Bangladesh women’s team’s dreadful run in the tour of South Africa continued as the visiting side lost the three-match T20I series with a game to spare.
The tourist lost the second and penultimate T20I in Bloemfontein Saturday by 32 runs against the home team. Bangladesh had lost the first game by 17 runs.
Batting first, South Africa posted 169 losing four wickets in their stipulated 20 overs. The innings was boosted by Sune Luus’ 57-ball 71 and Dane van Niekerk’s 66 off 42 deliveries. Nahida Akter and Panna Ghosh picked up two wickets each for Bangladesh.
Chasing the target, Bangladesh’s struggles with the bat in their tour of the African nation refused to go away.
Some resistance however, was provided by Shamima Sultana, who struck a 43-ball 50, and Fargana Haque, who registered a run a ball 37.
The other batters failed to meet the required run rate and the innings eventually finished on 137 for the loss of five wickets in allotted 20 overs.
Shabnim Ismail bagged two wickets for South Africa.
