Bangladesh cricketers felicitate Razzak, Tushar

Bangladesh national cricketers felicitated veteran spinner Abdur Razzak and experienced batsman Tushar Imran for reaching their respective individual milestones in first-class cricket. Left-arm spinner Razzak emerged as the first Bangladeshi to take 500 first-class wickets while Tushar became the first Bangladeshi to score 10,000 first-class runs. The national cricketers presented crests to the two cricketers ahead of their tri-nation ODI series match against Sri Lanka at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka Thursday. Razzak and Tushar both bagged the milestones for Prime Bank South Zone in the second round of the Bangladesh Cricket League's sixth edition earlier this month. The two former cricketers were felicitated days after Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza hailed the duo for achieving their individual feats.

"They are aged 36-37 years old but still they are dedicated to their teams. I can say to the new and emerging players that they have a lot to learn from their dedication. Today we have the mentality to follow what Shakib [al Hasan], Tamim [Iqbal], Mashrafe and Mushfiqur [Rahim] are doing. I think there is also a lot to be learned from the two cricketers," Mashrafe had said during a press conference. Many in the Bangladesh cricket community praised the move by the national cricketers to felicitate the two players while a few opined that such an initiative should have come from the BCB. Tushar, who made his first-class debut in 2000-01, played 154 matches to achieve the milestone while Razzak reached the landmark in 113 games after making his first-class debut in 2001-02 season.
