Mustafizur into top 10 T20I bowlers' rankings, Shakib regains top spot as ODI all-rounder

Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman has moved into the top 10 of the International Cricket Council's player rankings for Twenty20 international bowlers. Shakib al Hasan has also reclaimed top spot as the best all-rounder in the ODI format in the latest rankings. Mustafizur, who won the ICC's Emerging Cricketer of the Year award, leaped 10 places to 10th in the latest rankings with 643 rating points. As a result, he became Bangladesh’s highest-ranked bowler, leapfrogging Shakib (636 rating points). Shakib is at 11th place in the rankings of the shortest format after rising three places. “Rankings are an important indicator of consistency in performance and I am very happy and inspired to see myself in the top 10 of the rankings for the first time,” said Mustafizur in a press release.On the other hand, Shakib reclaimed top spot as the best all-rounder in ODIs. Shakib is at the top of the rankings with 377 rating points, followed by Sri Lankan Angelo Mathews at No 2. However, Shakib is the second best all-rounder in Tests and T20Is in the latest rankings. Left-arm spinner Shakib also claimed sixth place in the ODI bowlers' rankings and is the only Bangladesh cricketer to make it into the top 10 of separate categories. Opening batsman Tamim Iqbal is at No 22 in the Test batsmen's rankings with 668 rating points. Wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim is the highest Bangladesh representative in ODIs at No 19 while top-order batsman Sabbir Rahman is at 12 in T20Is.
