Watch: WWE star John Cena plays cricket in Australia

John Cena is a 16-time world champion and genuine WWE star - but it seems unlikely he'll be embarking on a cricket career anytime soon, reports Sky Sports. Cena tried his hand at a bit of "leather on willow" in Australia as part of his promotional work for the film Ferdinand. Former Australia vice-captain and current Sydney Thunder skipper Shane Watson put Cena through his paces during a net session in the capital. Cena admitted he found the sport something of a struggle, reporting on Twitter that he had played "poorly".

Watson did his best to coach him into some kind of technique, but he seemed keen on lining up his stance "baseball style" - with (perhaps inevitable) consequences. The Big Bash cricket competition begins in Australia on December 19 and it is not known at this point whether or not any team has made an approach to sign Cena.
