The players admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Salim Shahed and, as such, there was no need for a formal hearing. In addition to the fine imposed for the breach of Article 2.2.5, three demerit points have been added to Tamim and Liton’s disciplinary record. Pursuant to Article 7.5 of the Code, if a player reaches four or more demerit points in the tournament, the points will then be converted into suspension points. Four demerit points equate to a ban of one match.
