Hong Kong World Sixes: Bangladesh lose to MCC in plate semis

Bangladesh concluded their Hong Kong World Sixes 2017 campaign losing to Marylebone Cricket Club by four wickets in the plate semi-finals in Kowloon Sunday. Asked to bat first, the Bangladesh youngsters posted 73 runs for the loss of two wickets in their allotted five overs, opener Afif Hossain top-scoring with a 13-ball 31, featuring four fours and a couple of sixes. In reply, MCC reached their destination in 3.2 overs, Afif picking up the only wicket to fall. Earlier in the cup quarter-finals, the junior Tigers lost to Australia by four wickets at the same venue. Invited to take first guard, the youngsters in red and green registered 84 losing all of their wickets in five overs. No 3 batsman Mahidul Islam Ankon scored the highest 30 off eight balls, including two boundaries and three sixers.

In pursuit of their target, the Aussies reached the shore with four deliveries to spare. Spinner Monirul Islam bagged one wicket.
