Bangladesh A complete 4-0 sweep over Ireland A

Bangladesh A sealed a 4-0 series sweep over Ireland A after winning the fifth and final one-dayer by 76 runs in Cox’s Bazar Thursday. Middle-order batsman Yasir Ali led the way for the home side with an unbeaten 101-ball 102, composed with eight fours and five sixes as Bangladesh A, asked to bat first, posted a competitive 286 for the loss of six wickets in 50 overs. Player of the match Yasir received valuable support from opener Shadman Islam, who scored a patient 103-ball 68, featuring four boundaries and a sixer.

Together, Yasir and Shadman put on 132 for the third wicket partnership. Ireland A’s Barry McCarthy and Shane Getkate bagged two wickets each. In reply at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium, the visiting side were bundled out for 210 in 43.4 overs with opener Jack Tector top-scoring with an 80-ball 66, including 10 fours.John Anderson chipped in with a 57-ball 45, laced with five boundaries and a sixer, as he and Tector added 83 for the third wicket to raise brief hope of a consolation victory. But the fall of wickets at regular intervals meant the tourist were never really in the hunt. Seamer Abu Haider Rony was the most successful bowler for the host with three wickets while pacer Imran Ali and spinner Sanjamul Islam picked up two each.

Bangladesh A had earlier won the second, third and fourth one-dayers by three wickets, eight wickets and four wickets respectively with the first game ending in no result.
