Proteas cautious ahead of T20I series

Bangladesh team took a day off from practice Tuesday and only worked out at the gym ahead of their two-match T20I series against South Africa. The Tigers reached Bloemfontein Monday afternoon after their third and final ODI against the Proteas at Buffalo Park in East London Sunday. Bangladesh will practice Wednesday afternoon, ahead of their first T20I, scheduled for Thursday at Mangaung Oval. Meanwhile, South Africa practised at Mangaung Oval Tuesday. Youngster Robbie Frylinck said Bangladesh are a respected side in the shorter formats and that their Test and ODI series thrashing over the opposition is very much in the past now. He informed that they are taking the Tigers seriously ahead of the T20I series.

“We definitely won’t be writing Bangladesh off regardless of what happened in the Tests and ODIs. Bangladesh are a strong T20I side; they have played all over the world in various competitions, so they are a team to be respected,” Frylinck said to the media during practice Tuesday. “The guys take every game as it comes. You don’t write off anybody, you don’t think about what’s happened before, because you can’t gauge on that. T20 is a different animal game. I am sure the guys will come in and give 200% it will be nice to have another whitewash but we are not looking that far ahead. [Wednesday’s] the first game and we are going to come out firing,” he added.
