Bangladesh U-19-Afghanistan U-19 one-dayer washed out

The second one-day match between host Bangladesh U-19 cricket team and their Afghanistan counterpart was abandoned Saturday at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium due to inclement weather. Asked to bat first, the home side posted 182 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 43 overs in the 45-over-per side affair. Middle-order batsman Mohammad Rakib top-scored with a 57-ball 46 while wicketkeeper-batter Mahidul Islam Ankon made 44 off 73 deliveries.

Seamer Yousuf Zazai bagged four wickets while off-spinner Mujeeb picked up three in what was an extremely disciplined performance by the Afghans, who lost the first one-dayer by 145 runs at the same venue Thursday. Only four Bangladesh batsmen reached double figure, lower-order batsman Kazi Anik (32) and captain and opener Saif Hasan (26) being the other two. The two teams will face each other in the third game of the five-match series Monday at the same venue.BRIEF SCOREBangladesh U19 182/9 in 43 overs (Rakib 46, Ankon 44) v Afghanistan U19No result
