The BCB however, is confident that the pacer will be available for the first Test match of the series, set to begin on September 28 in Potchefstroom. BCB cricket operations committee chairman Akram Khan said, “The South Africa visa office made a mistake in his visa. It has to do with his date of birth. It will take a day or two to correct everything. He can go before the Test series. He is an important player, so we cannot deprive him because of miscommunication." The statement of Akram is contradictory to the initial report on the issue, which informed of Rubel being in trouble owing to mistaken identity. According to reports, there is another person named Rubel Hossain, who is currently blacklisted to enter South Africa.

The South African immigration authority is in dilemma whether Rubel is the same person or not. Meanwhile, the BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury informed that the board is in constant communication with Cricket South Africa regarding the issue. "There is a new provision that the passenger needs to have an 'Okay to Board' clearance from the ultimate destination. It is the responsibility of the concerned airlines before issuing the boarding pass to any individual. We are in touch with CSA and hopefully, the matter will be resolved soon. He will fly to South Africa with the first available flight once the matter is resolved," said Nizamuddin.
