Pranav Dhanawade - son of an auto driver – in world media

All the leading newspapers in the world have published reports on Pranav Dhanawade, the 15-year-old son of an auto-rickshaw driver in Maharashtra of India who was unknown to the people of his own locality.

Pranav made history by scoring a 1000 runs in an innings in school cricket on Tuesday.

He has broken a 116-year-old cricket record of Arthur Collins who had scored 628 not out in 1899.

The Guardian, Daily Mail, BBC, the Independent, Sydney Moring Herald have highlighted Pranav’s history in cricket.

Pranav made the record during the HT Bhandari Cup inter-school cricket tournament organised by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).

Dhanawade is a student of the KC Gandhi School in Kalyan, in Thane, a Mumbai suburb. His father Prashant drives an auto-rickshaw in Kalyan.

Pranav's knock came off 323 balls in 395 minutes, with 129 fours and 59 sixes.

The Maharashtra government has announced that it will cover all costs of his cricket coaching.
