Bangladesh women cricket team have been qualified for the upcoming ICC World T20 in India next year after Jahanara Alam and her troop beat Zimbabwe side by 31 runs to reach the final of the ICC Women's World T20 qualifier at the Terdthai cricket ground in Bangkok on Thursday.

Leg spinner Rumana Ahmed picked up four wickets to bundle out Zimbabwe on just 58/10 after Fargana Hoque scored highest with the bat to post 89/5 in twenty overs after being asked to bat.

However, Bangladesh struggled upfront with the bat where opener Sharmin Akhter was the second highest scorer with 23 runs. And Fargana scored a run-a-ball 43 with four boundaries at the end to rescue the Tigress to post a respectable total.

Chasing the target of ninety, Zimbabwe faced the music from the Bangladeshi bowlers and apart from Pellagia Mujaji's ten runs none of the Zimbabwe batters were able to reach the double figure.

Player of the match Rumana was exceptional and picked up four wickets giving away only eight runs from her four overs while Fahima Khatun and Shaila Sharmin took two wickets each for the bowling side.

Along with Bangladesh the winner of the other qualifier game between Ireland and Scotland will get the ticket for the next year's ICC Women's World T20 in India.
