Feels good to be associated with brands: Mushfiq

Following a long and successful season, members of the Bangladesh cricket team are enjoying a well-deserved break of around three weeks. The Tigers will resume their fitness camp on August 21 ahead of the upcoming bilateral home series against Australia, slated for this October.

Most of the cricketers already left for their respective home towns to spend time with their families while some are busy signing endorsement deals, including Test captain Mushfiqur Rahim, who became the brand ambassador of online-based shopping website “daraz.com” during a programme at a hotel in the capital yesterday.

“It feels good as Bangladesh are playing consistent cricket for quite some time now. Everyone seems to be associated with some brand or the other. Well, I think the cricketers need to get associated with such things as our expenses have gone up now. It is good that the cricketers are getting more income from this sector,” Mushfiq told the media yesterday.

Mushfiq added that the forthcoming two-Test series against Australia will be a tough challenge for the Tigers but informed that it will be a good series for the home side if they can continue playing consistent cricket.

“Obviously Australia are always a good side in every format of the game and no matter how they are performing at the moment, they will always come hard against the opponent. And I think they have a very talented side. However, we also have a good mixture of youth and experience and I hope we can continue our consistent performance,” he said.
