Mocktale: Manmohan phones Modi over India's series loss

Former Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh has made a call to his successor Narendra Modi to express his resentment over Team India's series loss to Bangladesh.

According a Mocktale report of Times of India, Manmohan seemed surprisingly chirpy and said: "I called Narendra Modi this morning [Monday] and told him that India had never lost a series to Bangladesh under my regime.

“I also reminded him that India is yet to win a World Cup under his government. Is this the achhe din that he had promised? Modi was caught off guard and admitted that he was more astonished with me speaking than India losing the series."

Brave and bold Bangladesh rode on complete teamwork to outplay India in every department as the home side Sunday secured the three-match one-day international series with a game to spare.

It was another hapless day out for Indian skipper MS Dhoni in Dhaka as no matter whatever trick he pulled out, Bangladesh were equally up to their task and neutralised any incoming threat on their way to a dominating six-wicket victory (Duckworth/Lewis method) in the second ODI at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

Everyone in India criticised the players and asked for Dhoni's resignation, someone they considered the world's best captain until a few days ago.

Over the defeat, captain MS Dhoni said: "Well, of course this loss was unexpected but losing and winning are both part of the game. You have to focus more on the process than the results."
