Bangladesh sprinter Imranur Rahman reached the Asian Games 100-metre semi-finals on Thursday after finishing fourth in his heat.
The England-based Bangladesh-origin athlete clocked 10.49 seconds in Heat 5 of the men’s 100m Round 1 at Paloma Park Stadium, attaining 22nd position among the 24 qualifiers on time.
Malaysia’s Mohammad won the heat in 10.17 seconds, ahead of Singapore’s Louis in 10.33 and Chinese Taipei’s Yang in 10.38.
Thailand’s Puripol Boonson was the fastest qualifier, winning his heat in 9.95 seconds.
Imranur, whose personal best is 10.11 seconds and season best 10.24, could not match either mark.
The semi-finals will be held on Friday.
