Mosammat Azmi Khatun and Rabiul Hasan Anik became the country’s fastest teenage (Under-18) girl and boy respectively with the former setting a new national record in the National Junior Athletics Championship.
The first-day events of the competition’s 39th edition took place at National Stadium Friday where Azmi clocked 12.4 seconds to break the previous junior national record, which was 12.49 set by Sumaiya Akter last year.
Anik took 11.1s to win the 100m sprint event of the teenage boys’ category.
