Bangladesh’s fastest sprinter Imranur Rahman qualified for the semi-final of World Athletics Indoor Championship 2024 in Glasgow, Scotland Friday.
The England-born athlete clocked 6.64 seconds to finish third in the No. 7 heat of the 60-meter event to progress to the next round.
He took the same time during the World Indoor Athletics Championship 2022 in Belgrade.
The timing is .05s more than his personal best (6.59s) which he recorded in Kazakhstan last year to bag Bangladesh’s first gold at Asian Indoor Athletics Championships.
The semi-final will be held in the early hours of Saturday at 1:53am Bangladesh time, and 7:53pm Glasgow time.
A total of 651 athletes from 133 teams have entered to compete in the three-day competition.
