Premier Bangladesh sprinter Imranur Rahman sailed into the heats of the World Athletics Championship after finishing in first place in Saturday’s 100-meter preliminary qualifying round in Budapest.
The England-based sprinter took 10.5 seconds to emerge top of his heat, which is 0.25 seconds more than his personal best of 10.25 seconds registered at the Asian Athletics Championship in Bangkok last month.
The 30-year old ended fourth overall among 33 athletes in qualifying, with 10 of them progressing to the heats, scheduled for later Saturday at 11:45pm Bangladesh time.
