Pakistani tennis players pay tribute to Bangabandhu

Pakistani tennis players along with other teams participating in the ITF Asia Under-14 Development Championship on Saturday paid their tribute by placing wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Dhaka. 

The ITF Asia Under-14 Development Championship is taking place at the Sheikh Jamal National Tennis Complex from January 7. The championship will end on Thursday.

Coaches, referees, ITF representatives and tournament directors were also present with the players while paying the tribute at Dhanmodi 32.

Apart from Bangladesh and Pakistan, 20 boys and 14 girls from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Mongolia, Nepal, Chinese Taipei, Bhutan and Maldives participated in this tournament in Dhaka.

Tennis Federation general secretary Abu Saeed Mohammad Haider said: “All of the Pakistani athletes and their guardians have laid wreaths at the portrait of the country's founding father.Everyone then went to the memorial museum for Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.”
