Bangladesh Olympic Association Executive Committee meeting held

The Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) Executive Committee held its fourth meeting on Monday. 

The meeting, headed by association President and Chief of Bangladesh Army General SM Sharfuddin Ahmed was held at the Dhaka Cantonment Multipurpose Complex, according to an ISPR statement on Monday.

The reports of the 2022 Commonwealth Games Chef de Mission Abdur Rakib Montu and 5th Islamic Solidarity Games Chef de Mission Dr Siraj Uddin Md Alamgir were presented during the meeting. 

The committee decided to implement the recommendations made by the chef de missions in the report. 

The committee was also informed that the upcoming Asian Games will be held on September 23-October 8 instead of September 10-25.

Meanwhile, a 21-member steering committee with Army Chief General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed as the executive chairman and State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Zahid Ahsan Russel as the advisor has been formed for the 2nd Bangladesh Youth Games. 

During the meeting, crests were handed over to the silver and bronze medalists of the archery team in the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games and the table tennis team that made it to the quarter finals of the Commonwealth Games. 

The committee also decided to give financial rewards to those who will earn merits in international competitions.
