"The Games will go on until we get any government directive. The sooner the government notification is issued, we (Games organizing committee) will discuss with the Health Ministry and come to a decision. Since a lot of event finals will take place right till April 4, the Games will go on until then," said Bashir.

The Games got underway officially Thursday with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina virtually declaring the Games open amid a colourful opening ceremony.

A total of 5,300 athletes from 31 disciplines will vie for 1,271 medals in 378 events at 29 different venues.
