Prize giving ceremony of alphabet fest and sports competition, organized by Welfare Development Satisfaction, was held Sunday.
The event by WDS was arranged to mark the International Mother Language day.
The alphabet fest and sports competition was held at Khilkhet Nikunja Park from February 25 to 28.
The event highlighted the sacrifices of the martyrs of the 1952 movement for Bengali as the national language of Bangladesh.
Children under the age of 12 participated in 14 sports events.
The prize among the winners were distributed by member of the parliament Habib Hasan.
Habib during his speech addressing the event advised the organizers to hold such event every year.
WDS, a non-governmental organization, is planning have a bigger event to mark the Independence Day in March.
