Avik Anwar has become the first Bangladeshi to secure third place in a Malaysian race circuit.
He completed the second race of round four of the 2019 Malaysia Championship series in the Sepang International Circuit, held on a Formula 1 track in Sepang, Malaysia.
"No other Bangladeshi has reached the Formula 1 track podium before," Avik said in a Facebook post.
"The year 2019 is a memorable one for me," he added.
Earlier, Avik won the Volkswagen Ameo Cup to become the first Bangladeshi to win an international motor sports event.
