Tom Cruise breaks ankle while filming MI6

The shooting of the latest installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise has been halted, after actor Tom Cruise broke his ankle during the shoot of a stunt, reports CNN. The 55-year-old actor, who is well known for doing his own stunts, was hurt while filming a jump between two high-rise buildings in London, during the weekend. There is even a video of him crashing into the wall. Cruise was later seen limping off the set. “During (the) production of the latest Mission: Impossible film, Tom Cruise broke his ankle while performing a stunt,” Paramount Pictures confirmed in a statement. However, Paramount Pictures insisted that Mission: Impossible 6 is still on schedule to open in July, next year. “Production will go on a hiatus while Tom makes a full recovery, but the film remains on schedule to open July 27, 2018. Tom wants to thank you all for your concern and support and can’t wait to share the film with everyone next summer.” they added. Christopher McQuarrie, the director of the film, said that the star was “on the mend” in a tweet, on Wednesday. Tom Cruise will next been seen in American Made, an action film directed by Doug Liman, based on a pilot who works for the CIA. The film is slated to be released on September 29, this year.
