Bangla Utsav 2017 will held in Virginia, US

Mridul Rahman, Cultural and Artist management chairman of Bangla Utsav 2017 said, 'Bornomala Sikkangon is one of the most famous institutions in the US for teaching Bengali culture and the language. It works to uphold the Bengali language, culture, and literature, in non-resident Bengali community. We want to introduce the Bengali culture and want the next generations to be familiar with the Bengali traditions, hence, we are arranging the festival next year. The festival will consist of musical and dance performances, dramas, sports, and so on. Emeriaus Professor Anisuzzaman, and Shamsuzzaman Khan, the director general of Bangla Academy are the advisers of the festival.Dr Saymon Zakaria, the representative and coordinator of Bangla Utsav 2017 Bangladesh, said, 'The history of Bangladesh is almost 2 thousand years old, and we want to make people know about our history in various communities around the world, by organising this festival. We are hoping that the Government Republic of Bangladesh will help our initiative.”Singer Mohammed Abdul Jabbar (Shadhin Bangla Betar Kendro in 1971), actress and performer Momena Chowdhury, actors Sattar and Pirzada Shahidul Islam, among others, were present at the conference. Aroj ali Boyate and Antor Sarker also performed a Charya song (an ancient Bengali song), at the beginning of the conference.
