Guy Ritchie to direct Disney's live-action 'Aladdin'

Disney's earlier classic animated feature titled Aladdin, released in 1992, had won two Oscars, with Robin Williams providing the voice of Genie. John August, the writer of Big Fish, has written the script and Dan Lin of The Lego Movie fame is producing. Sources say they will keep many of the musical elements of the original. Ritchie, who directed the first two Sherlock Holmes films with Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law, most recently wrapped King Arthur: Legend of the Sword with Charlie Hunnam and Jude Law.
