Coldplay honours Gene Wilder and it's 'Pure Imagination'

As Wilder said in his role as Willy Wonka, “Hold your breath. Make a wish. Count to three.”

Chris Martin sang “Pure Imagination for concert goers in Denver, Monday night. And for some fans of both the band and the movie, it may have been a “view of paradise.”

The band then shared a clip of the song on its Twitter page early Tuesday morning.

Wilder starred in the 1971 movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, singing the song “Pure Imagination.”

Coldplay is the latest in a string of stars to remember the actor, who passed away due to complications of Alzheimer's disease Monday, at the age of 83.
