Veteran Bollywood actor Nana Patekar died at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa, early Thursday.
He was declared dead at around 5:20am after being taken to Manipal Hospital in Dona Paula, where doctors attempted to revive him with CPR for about 45 minutes.
Dr Shekhar Salkar, head of the oncology department at Manipal Hospital, told news agency ANI that despite the prolonged CPR, the actor could not be revived.
A medico-legal case (MLC) has been registered, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted, Dr Salkar said.
