Madonna emerged as the biggest winner at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, taking home seven trophies at the ceremony held Monday at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
The singer, who led this year’s nominations with 13 nods, won Artist of the Year and Best Collaboration for “Bring Your Love,” her collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter.
She also won Best Dance, Best Cinematography, Best Choreography, Best Long Form Video and Best Album for “Confessions II – The Film” and “Confessions II.”
Taylor Swift won the night’s top award, Video of the Year, for “The Fate of Ophelia.” She also won Best Direction for “Opalite” and received the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors for her work as an artist and director of her music videos.
Carpenter also won Best Editing for “House Tour” and shared the Best Collaboration award with Madonna for “Bring Your Love.”
BTS won Song of the Year for “Swim,” along with Best K-Pop and Best Group.
Sienna Spiro won Best New Artist, while LISA took home Best Pop for “Dream” featuring Kentaro Sakaguchi. Cardi B featuring Kehlani won Best Hip-Hop for “Safe,” and Bruno Mars won Best R&B for “I Just Might.”
Nirvana received the Video Vanguard Award.
