Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson headline Verity, a psychological thriller that delves into secrets, manipulation and obsession as the line between fiction and reality begins to blur.
Based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel of the same name, the film follows renowned author Verity Crawford, played by Hathaway, and Lowen Ashleigh, played by Johnson, a struggling writer who moves to the remote Crawford estate to ghost-write for Verity.
Lowen soon discovers what appear to be Verity’s chilling autobiographical notes. As she reads the disturbing confessions about Verity’s husband, Jeremy, played by Josh Hartnett, she begins to question what is real and what is fiction.
The story explores the uneasy boundaries between truth and lies, manipulation and attraction, and opportunity and obsession.
Directed by Michael Showalter, Verity brings a darker tone to the October release calendar, with its isolated setting and unsettling revelations driving the film’s psychological tension.
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing International, Verity is scheduled to release in cinemas across India on October 2, 2026.
