Duronto TV is marking Rabindra Jayanti with a slate of special programs on Friday, 25 Boishakh, featuring stage performances, music, dance and short films.
The lineup includes "Tasher Desh", a stage production based on Rabindranath Tagore’s songs and dance, with the children’s organization "Phulki". The program is directed by Wadda Hirab, with music arrangement by Soma Roy. It will air at 7 am.
"Megher Kole Rod Heseche" will follow with performances of well-known Tagore songs by Duronto’s friends, including Anandi Ghosh, Ramiza Hasan, Din Islam Imran, Ariba Zaman and Bidyashree Singha. Directed by A K Komol, it will air at 2 pm and again at 6:30 pm.
Another special, "Robir Kiron", will feature dramatic renditions of Tagore’s poems by children from "Kalporekha". Also directed by A K Komol, it will air at 2 pm and again at 6:30 pm.
Duronto will also air the dance program "Mamo Chitte Niti Nritye" at 9 am. The short films "Madho and Dagor" will be screened at 10 pm. The films were made by Sumona Siddiqui and Lucy Tripti Gomez, respectively.
