Rajib Rafi’s ‘Once Upon a Time in Wari Bateshwar’ has been selected in the competition section of the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, the second largest film festival in France after Cannes.
The entire film was shot using a drone, giving it breathtaking visuals and an aerial perspective that enhances the depth and beauty of the film.
At the same time, this fiction tells the story of the unseen town and people of Wari-Bateshwar, one of the oldest archaeological sites in Bangladesh.
Apart from directing, Rajib Rafi has also written the story of the film. Under the banner of Khana Talkies Production, the film is produced by Ashiq Mostafa and co-produced by Adnan Ahmed. Imtiaz Niloy, Shailen Paul, Sabikunnahar Kakan, Shyamal Shishir, Toto Timothy, Dipankar Deep, MD Johnny and Nazim Uddin play various roles in the film.
'Once Upon a Time in Wari Bateshwar' is Rajib Rafi's first short film.
He has previously worked as an assistant director and screenwriter with many others. Earlier, in 2019, Aung Rakhine's 'The Last Post Office', written by Rajib Rafi, was screened at this festival. This film was shot in the original Wari Bateshwar area, which is currently located in Narsingdi.
