Omar Sani: My house was robbed in filmy style

Actor Omar Sani reported a robbery at his home 13 days after a theft incident.

The robbery occurred around 12am on Sunday night when he returned home and discovered his bedroom door locked from the inside.

After unsuccessful attempts to open the door, his caretaker and manager noticed the glass of the door had been broken.

Upon entering the room, they found that several important items, including documents related to a Tk2 crore fraud case, an iPhone, and gold jewelry from his daughter’s childhood, were missing.

However, an expensive laptop in the room was left behind, suggesting that the robbers’ primary target was the documents.

Speaking to Prothom Alo, Omar Sani explained that his son Fardeen had been defrauded Tk2 crore through a cryptocurrency transaction.

The case was ongoing, with a verdict expected soon, and the missing documents were crucial to the case.

Sani expressed shock, comparing the event to a movie-style robbery.

Despite this, he emphasized that his lawyer held copies of the documents, and he was not intimidated.

Sani also revealed that Fardeen had invested over Tk2 crore in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency with a businessman named Nishat Bin Zia Rumman, whom he met in 2022.

After several transactions, Fardeen discovered that Nishat had no bank account or valid business license, and refused to return the money when asked.

Omar Sani decided to file a case at the Vatara police station and informed the authorities about the robbery.
