Two concerts in the capital this weekend were interrupted by security conccerns- the 'Dhaka Retro' concert featuring four of the most popular 90s bands, and 'Gonojowar.'
Nemesis was scheduled to sing at the 'Gonojowar' concert at the Liberation War Museum on Friday. But it was not possible as the concert was canceled due to chaos.
The band's frontman Zohad said, "Today's concert was going well. When Cryptic Fate was on stage, a group of 20-30 people suddenly broke through the gates of the Liberation War Museum and entered. What happened next, you can understand. The concert was cancelled. We, Nemesis and AvoidRafa could not perform at the show.”
He added, “The same thing is happening in the last few concerts. Who are they? Do they really come to listen to the music, or is it a very pre-planned operation against the shows?”
Zohad also said that those who broke the gate and entered the concert, introduced themselves as anti-discrimination soldiers. In this regard, he wrote in that post, "I am 100% sure that none of them are anti-discrimination soldiers."
Expressing surprise, this artist wrote, "We've been playing music for 25 years, I have never faced such an experience in my life. And it starts suddenly in 2024? The saddest and most depressing thing is that those who do it, get away with it.”
He spoke about the law and order situation saying, "I don't know what will happen in the future, but I know that the law and order situation should be brought under control very soon. Today they are attacking concerts, tomorrow they can attack any event."
Zohad ended on a positive note, "The people of Bangladesh are crazy about music, we know very well that music will never stop in this country."
