3 films from Bangladesh competing in Busan

The 28th edition of the “Busan International Film Festival” in South Korea will feature three Bangladeshi films. 

Two films, “Agantuk”(The Stranger) directed by Biplob Shorkar and “Bali-The Wrestler” directed by Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury were selected under the 'New Currents Award' category for promising Asian creators. “Something Like An Autobiography” directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki is competing in the Kim Jiseok category.

“Something Like An Autobiography” is also Farooki’s first time acting in any film. The curtain rises on the festival October 4, ending October 13. 

Mostofa Sarwar Farooki expressing his excitement about the festival said, "Today is a great day for Bangladeshi cinema. Where Bangladesh is the headline in Variety's Global Bulletin– what a beautiful year.”

Nasir Uddin Khan played the lead role in “Bali”, while Ferdousi Majumdar, Sahana Rahman Sumi, Ratan Dev, among others have acted in “Agantuk”.
