Kolkata’s ‘Best Actress Of The Year’ Pori Moni

Dhallywood Actress Pori Moni received the title of “Best Actress Of The Year” by leading Indian media outlet, Anandabazar Patrika. Pori Moni took to social media on Monday, April 24, to announce this achievement. 


The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) State Secretary Mohammed Salim and Indian Actress Rituparna Sengupta presented the award to the Bangladeshi actress. 


The “Rana Plaza” actress wrote, “This really is an honour, and a privilege for me. This achievement was only made possible because of my well wishers, viewers, fans and followers. I stand here today only because of the love I have received.”


Each year Anandabazar selects the best stars amid the two Bengals to grant these titles. Indian Bengali Actor Ritwick Chakraborty took home the award for “Best Actor Of The Year” this time around. 


While accepting the award Pori Moni expressed on stage her belief that the two Bengals should work together in the film industry. 


Pori Moni made her debut on the big screen in 2015 with the movie “Bhalobasha Shimahin”. Some of her notable works include, “Rokto”, “Swapnajaal”, “Mukhosh”, “Pure Jay Mon”, “Apon Manush” and so on.
