Bollywood megastar Amitabh BachchanIndian sustained a rib injury while shooting a film in Hyderabad.
The 80-year-old Indian actor posted on his blog Sunday night that he sustained a rib injury while working in Hyderabad on the science-fiction film Project K, according to Indianexpress.
Bachchan claimed to have a muscle rupture and shattered rib cartilage. Describing his injury as “painful”, the actor said a doctor consulted him to take rest.
He said his work on the film is suspended until he's healed.
“I shall be unable to meet the well wishers at Jalsa Gate this evening.. so do not come,” the actor said to fans who often gather outside his home in Mumbai. “All else is well,” he wrote.
Project K is an upcoming Indian science fiction film written and directed by Nag Ashwin. Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, the film is simultaneously shot in Telugu and Hindi and is scheduled to be released in cinemas on January 12, 2024.
Amitabh Bachchan, who stars in the film, is regarded as one of the most successful and influential actors in the history of Indian cinema.
He first gained popularity in the early 1970s for films such as Zanjeer, Deewaar and Sholay, and achieved greater stardom in later years.
He has since appeared in over 200 Indian films in a career spanning more than five decades.
