The Russian film “Man on the Chair'', directed by Gleb Leshchenko, has won the Best Film Award at the 9th Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival (DIMFF 2023).
DIMFF 2023 was held on February 4-5 on the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) campus and Star Cineplex, Shimanto Shambhar, said a press release issued on Tuesday.
“The land of my forefathers” came from Pakistan directed by Irfan Noor K, MSJ Best MoJo Story was awarded to “Story and unknown” directed by Asif Ul Islam from Bangladesh, and for ULAB Young Filmmaker Award, Shikkha ATM directed by Shahinur Akter was from Bangladesh and DIMFF Best Vertical Film was awarded to “Face to face” directed by Ebrahim Chowdhury from Bangladesh.
A total of 163 films were submitted from 25 countries worldwide.
The chief guest of the closing ceremony, renowned actor and Managing Director of Asiatic EXP, Iresh Zaker, said: “No matter what the device is, telling a story through a film is more appreciable.”
This year's Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival ended with a vote of thanks from DIMFF's Advisor Syeda Sadia Mehjabin.
