“Hawa” director Mejbaur Rahman Sumon announced the names of the cinema halls where his debut feature film will play in its first week. The list includes 24 theatres in Dhaka, Savar, Narayanganj, Chittagong, Khulna, Pabna, Sirajganj, Rongpur, Bogura, Mymensing, Gazipur and Sylhet.
Filming for “Hawa” began in October, 2019 and almost entirely took place at the coral island of Saint Martin.The plot revolves around a group of fishermen who venture into the deep sea with a trawler and explore the prevalent sea mythologies. The star-studded cast features Chanchal Chowdhury, Sariful Razz, Shohel Mondol, Nasir Uddin Khan and Sumon Anowar in key roles.
The film released two songs that caught YouTube by storm. The first was “Shada Shada Kala Kala,” which was released on July 7. The song garnered over 3.6million views on Facecard Production’s YouTube channel.
The other song is “E Hawa” by Meghdol from their album “Aluminum Er Dana.” The director himself, along with Shibu Kumar Shill wrote and sang the song.
Advance booking of tickets began on July 24. However, all available shows have already been declared houseful for the film, which will premiere on July 29.
