Adam Sandler is reuniting with Netflix for another serious role after "Uncut Gem," under his overall production deal, for a new basketball sports drama, titled "Hustle."
Sandler stars as a Philadelphia 76ers scout Stanley “Sugarman” Beren, who bets his career on a talented Spanish player Bo Cruz, played by real-life NBA played Juancho Hernangomez.
Produced by LeBron James, Roth/Kirschenbaum Films and Sandler’s Happy Madison Production Company, the film is being helmed by director Jeremiah Zagar, based on a script by Will Fetters and Taylor Materne.
The cast also includes Queen Latifah, Ben Foster and Robert Duvall
"After discovering an once-in-a-lifetime player with a rocky past abroad, a down on his luck basketball scout (Adam Sandler) takes it upon himself to bring the player to the States without his team’s approval. Against the odds, they have one final shot to prove they have what it takes to make it in the NBA," reads the official synopsis.
