"Amar Bhashar Chalachchitra 1428," a Bangla film festival dedicated to the Language Movement martyrs, will kick off on February 22 and conclude on February 26 at the TSC premises of Dhaka University.
The five-day festival will commence on Tuesday with the screening of Satyajit Ray directed film "Agantuk."
"Nonajoler Kabbo," "Raat Jaga Phool," "Lal Moroger Jhuti," "Mujib Amar Pita," "Rehana Maryam Noor" and other notable classic and contemporary films will be screened over the course of the festival.
Dhaka University Film Society has successfully organized 19 editions of this festival since 2002 with the aim of commemorating the great martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Bangla language and promoting Bangla cinema to film enthusiasts. Due to the pandemic, the event was postponed last year.
A total of 19 contemporary and classic feature films, and one documentary will be screened this year.
Aside from enjoying films, audiences will have the opportunity to exchange views directly with the film cast and crew.
The event is open for all. Organizers urged everyone interested in attending the screenings to abide by the Covid safety guideline.
