Veteran Indian actor Anupam Shyam passed away at 63 on Monday, August 9, 2021, due to multiple organ failures.
He was undergoing treatment in a city hospital due to kidney infection.
The actor is best known for his small screen roles including that of Thakur Sajjan Singh in hit show "Maan Kee Awaaz: Pratigya."
He also starred in films like "Slumdog Millionaire," "Lagaan," "Dil Se" and "Bandit Queen".
The actor was rushed to Lifeline hospital in suburban Goregaon earlier this week.
"The doctors informed us about his death 40 minutes ago. I was at the hospital, with his brothers Anurag and Kanchan. His body is still there in the hospital," informed co-star Yashpal Sharma
"It'll be brought to his residence, New Dindoshi, MHADA colony in the morning. The funeral will take place later in the day."
Several industry personalities took to Twitter to convey their condolences.
Manoj Joshi tweeted: "Saddened by the demise of my friend and very talented actor Anupam Shyam ji. We have lost a great man. My deepest condolences to his family and friends."
Manoj Bajpayee said, "Rest in peace my friend. Will remember our old Mumbai days."
