‘Midsommer’ director Ari Aster's new film stars Amy Ryan, Joaquin Phoenix and others

Ari Aster, who directed Hereditary and Midsommer, is set to return with his third directorial venture, titled “Disappointment Blvd.”

Producing studio A24 is reuniting with Aster with this new project after backing his last two acclaimed horror films . “Joker” actor Joaquin Phoenix’s casting in the lead role has been confirmed as well.

Pheonix will also produce the film, and this is his second time collaborating with A24. He had previously worked with the producing studio for C’mon C’mon, which is yet to go into wide release.

Deadline reports that Amy Ryan (“Gone Baby Gone“), Nathan Lane (“The Producers“), Patti LuPone (“Hollywood,” “Last Christmas“), and actress Kylie Rogers (“Yellow Stone,” “Cheaper By The Dozen“) have joined the film alongside Phoenix.

According to the official synopsis, Aster’s film will provide “a decades-spanning portrait of one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time.”

Ari Aster confirmed earlier in July 2020 that his next project was going to be a four-hour ‘nightmare comedy.’ “All I know is that it’s gonna be four-hours long,” he said.
