Casting is picking up steam for Jordan Peele’s secret new film, which was announced last year, in November, and remains untitled.
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that actor and TV personality Keke Palmer has joined the cast while Daniel Kaluuya “is in negotiations to reunite with the filmmaker.”
Kaluuya, who has started the new year with a bang after earning praise for his performance in Judas and the Black Messiah, solidified his acting career as the lead actor in Peele’s 2017 directorial debut Get Out, which earned him an Oscar nomination.
According to Collider, Palmer will be “playing the antagonist of the film.” Jesse Plemons, known for playing supporting roles in Breaking Bad and I am Thinking of Ending Things, is also expected to come on board.
After the release of Get Out, Peele said, “I have four other social thrillers that I want to unveil in the next decade. The best and scariest monsters in the world are human beings and what we are capable of especially when we get together.”
“I’ve been working on these premises about these different social demons, these innately human monsters that are woven into the fabric of how we think and how we interact, and each one of my movies is going to be about a different one of these social demons,” he added.
The new untitled film is one of those thrillers, slated for release on July 22, 2022.
