Popular reality show MTV Roadies has completed more than ten seasons and it has established itself as a platform for the youth. Starting from the likes of Rannvijay Singh, Ayushmann Khuranna, Bani J, MTV Roadies has introduced plenty of youth icons to the industry who are now very successful. The recent addition would be Prince, who also won Bigg Boss 9.
The show has always talked about woman empowerment and also claims to stand for their right. Even the current season of Roadies has Neha Dhupia as a gang leader with three other male gang leaders – a testimony to the show’s stance towards women rights. However, the show has faced an unwanted situation recently where a girl contestant was sexually harassed by another male contestant.
The latest season of MTV Roadies Rising, which features Neha Dhupia, Prince Narula, Rannvijay and Nikhil Chinapa as judges, aired its latest elimination recently. Shockingly, Jibran, a male contestant was thrown out of the reality show after female participants accused him of sexually harassing them.
It began with Shweta Mehta from Neha Dhupia’s gang, who narrated the incident about how Jibran entered her room without permission and turned off the lights. This made Rannvijay and Neha furious. They questioned his integrity and his intentions for doing so. Prince was about to hit him when Khushnuma and Samyukta told the judges about Jibran’s unnecessary comments about them.
Unable to control his temper, Nikhil told him,”I will throw you out right now. Do you understand what rape culture is? you are the living example of it.” Jibran was eliminated at the end of the show.
